Week 5 Kentucky Derby Media Poll

The Kentucky Derby picture is looking cloudy these days with no clear cut favorite heading into the 145th Run for the Roses. For that reason we preview today’s Kentucky Derby media poll. Also, information on how to bet on Game Winner Kentucky Derby. Two weeks ago, Bob Baffert-trained colts Game Winner and Improbable looked like the clear cut favorites, but after both horses lost at the Rebel Stakes last week, media members believe this year’s Derby is anyone’s to win.

“We may finally have a wide open Derby picture for the first time since the introduction of the points qualifying system,” TVG’s Caton Bredar said.

Albany Times-Union reporter Tim Wilkin doesn’t believe any horse had been impressive enough in the prep race season to be considered a clear-cut favorite to win the Derby.

“No horse has emerged as the one you have to beat in the Derby,” said Wilkin. “Still think Baffert has all the aces but would not be surprised to see a double-digit priced winner at Churchill — at least today.”
